anal gland/sac leakage?

My dog got some on my car seat but luckily I have leather so I wipe it off. When he leaves a spot of that invisible death on his dog bed I have to leave the room. I'm glad they don't get full too often.

My golden retriever always has that problem from time to time. It's horrible and you can smell it from across the room. Still love her though 🙂

Dogs love butt juice!!

If I could only figure out how to make butt juice flavored bones then id be a millionaire

That problem can be dealt with. Next time you're at the vet, ask him/her to show you how. Wear gloves.

Some dogs need their anal glands expressed. A vet will usually put on gloves, then put his finger in your dog's rectum and stimulate the anal glands. Next he will mop up the mess with some gauze or cotton balls. The problem is solved for about 6 months, in my experience.
Also, you can learn to do this yourself.

My brother-in-law is a vet and he offered to show us how to express it. I know if the stool becomes too soft that it diminishes normal expression and then we have the issue of Bacon juice inside the house.

I'm just glad it doesn't happen too often or Bacon would be in the garage.

Try expressing them. One of my dogs is constantly getting her anal glands impacted. I eventually learned from my vet how to express them myself so they don't get infected. NOT FUN!!!!!!

Cats glands smell as bad if not worse. I had my cats cleared a week or so ago and when the vet pressed them it shot at least 2 feet and all over the wall....Made me want to puke

You can express them on the outside as well but it's not nearly as effective. One of my dogs has had this issue his whole life. It only happens once every few months and my vet charges just $10 to do it. Well worth me not having to do it.

I'll express the glands on my little mini dachsund from time to time. It becomes quite obvious when she needs it, and she stinks like hell and is always licking her ass. Last time I did it, it squirted out onto the wall. I nearly puked. Amazing how much foulness can come out of a small dog.

Our Pug has serious issues with hers...my wife works at an animal hospital so it's no big deal, but more than once she's picked the dog up and had a long streak of that foulness running down her arm. I seriously can't smell it that well, thank god. But it's not nearly as bad as the fridges in my lab. Dimethyl Sulfide FTL.
