Dog owners better for society than cat owners

Not to ignite the everlasting debate. Well, actually, yes to reignite the debate...

You have to admit it -- when was the last time you heard of a cat owner scaring off a burglar while out walking the animal? How many dead bodies have been found by cat owners? The likely body of Laci Peterson was found by a dog owner out for a walk.

Is there such a thing as a "working cat"? What about a "military working cat"?

This is lighthearted so ease up. ;)

For centuries, Cats served in every nation's Navy, as mousers.
If that ain't a Military Working Cat, I don't kno0w what the question is......;)

Dog's don't kill off the native wildlife either. Whole suburbs in my town are devoid of life thanks to cats/feral cats.

But then a cat tends not to leave biscuits baking on your lawn either. :D

My dog rarely barks.

Most cases when a dog DOES bark all the time, it's the OWNERS who should have cold water tossed on them, NOT the dog.

Some people should NOT own a dog.

Agreed, a barking dog is usually the owner's fault. Not one of my dogs has been like that. Yes, they might when they're young but that is why you discipline your dogs.

Actually wild dogs are responsible for cattle, sheep and other farm animal deaths.
In Sonoma County, a dairy county in Northern Ca., there is a Range Leash law that allows farmer to SHOOT dogs off leash that are chasing their cattle.
This is why pets should be spayed or neutered.

Notice I said NATIVE wildlife. I'm well aware of wild dogs, we have dingoes here. Cats however have a tendency to devestate the small animal and bird population. It pisses you off no end when there are no birds in your home anymore because of the neighbour's cats. I used to like waking up to a morning melody. Oh well.

Cats kill bugs and spiders

Anytime you see a spider grab your cat, toss it towards the ah heck...if the thing even flinches it's dinner time for the kitties :D
Of course, during the summers I always leave the daddy long legs alone (in the corners of my ceiling)... My desk light glows in that direction...when the mosquitoes come a buzzin, they head towards the light and, well, the large web... I actually saw one get caught, wrapped up, and ingested by a daddy long legs.

Most cat owners aren't really looking for utility value.
