Dog Lovers: Need a Suggestion for a Dog for My Mom

Well, My mom has wanted a dog for a long time. The thing is she is always on the go, she works fulltime and travels a lot. So she can't always give attention to the dog all the time. She has a medium sized back yard, and can use the garage as an indoor safe place for the dog if its raining outside bad weather, etc....

Any suggestions?

All the reasons not to get a dog. Dogs need lots of care and someone around on a daily basis. I'd suggest that she do a dog a favor, and not adopt one.

This is also my reaction to it, but I can always take the dog to my apt. when she is gone. (but kinda glad you said it so i get doubts about it )

Yup, that would be a horrible environment for a dog. If she wants a pet, should get a fish.

Dogs are pack animals.
Given company of others (dogs or humans), they are the best pet in the world. Friendly, loyal, secure, loving, happy. . . typically all a dog will want to do is please its owner and fit in. But not be left alone all the time.

I always feel bad for solitary outdoor dogs.
I wouldnt want to be out there.
