I just installed a dog door over the weekend, but my dog still insists on waiting for me to let him out before he will do his business. I know this because he always pees and poops when I take him into the backyard. He has no problem using the dog door.
I did train him to pee and poop in the backyard before going on our twice daily walks. So this is probably why he doesn't do his business on his own schedule. What can I do to break him of this habit? I'm going out of town Thursday and am only able to get my gf to see him once a day.
