When I had my Fit, I got Kumho Ecsta 4Xs because they were pretty dang-on cheap. Pretty great in dry conditions but horrible in rain. They lasted me just shy of 40k miles which was a-ok with me for the price.

I did misjudge the number of stupid people that would chime in on this topic, so thanks for pointing that out. There were only a couple of you, but stupid goes a long way. Most everyone was helpful and I do appreciate their responses. I edited my OP down to hopefully discourage any more irrelevant responses. The next time I'm curious about tires I'll find a dedicated car forum. This is how a similar topic goes when grownups are involved. Notice how productive and mature this conversation is compared to ATG?

That thread has almost identical responses. Ironically this one has better info, at least we're saying why it's such a terrible idea and suggesting better brands to go with.

And looking at the posts on that forum.. Good luck with that crowd.

Um, that thread basically seems to offer the same responses: no, those tires are not a good decision.

A few seem to offer that they are 'good for the money,' but given their cost, that is essentially a vote for 'they didn't come apart while driving.'

You drive a car that was, what, 28-30k+ new? You put 20" wheels on it?

You're a joke if you put Nankang, Nexen, or the like on that car. Even worse if you go for the total unknowns below those brands.

Be offended all you want. Doesn't change how illogical you're being. I don't think you ever did reply to my questioning Re: 'why is it a problem to spend 2x the money on a much better tire that will last twice as long?'

what op is looking for is someone to tell him that his crappy 4th world tires are ok to use on his car.

He's digging for some confirmation of his crappy choices and is lashing out at anyone that tells him otherwise.

Seriously the best place to look for tire info is tirerack.

duh duh duh

See post #11 where I basically agree with everything that everyone has said in regards to not buying super generic tires.

A couple of you guys either need to learn how to read, or learn how to think, or some combination of the two.

1) That other thread lacked the snarkiness and stupidity of this one, and people actually reasoned out and discussed why those cheap tires were garbage. A couple guys actually owned cars with those crap tires, and explained why they were garbage.
2) See post 11, where I agreeed with buying a better asymetrical tire.

Where I live driving on 20 inch rims with thin tires is pure suicide!! I am thinking of getting some AT 245/70/r16 tires myself.
