Dog bite

Got a dog bite about 2 hrs ago.

Went to tie my dog in his kennel but he was pissed so he jumped straight at my face... i got a very small cut by my lip and a bit bigger one close to my right eye...

Washed it with soap and water and the bleeding has stopped mostly.

Is there any harm in waiting until morning to get a tetanus shot?

umm, aren't you vaccinated already?

you have to get one after you get bitten even if you've had one already

i'd say you'll be fine depending on when you had the last one, if it was in >5 years i'd say you'll be fine till morning

if you're not though don't blame me

healthcare here sucks (Trinidad)

went to the hospital just now and the emergency room is packed so i came back home..

i'll hit the road again to a private hospital for one now.

thanks for the quick replies.

bite him back

just wash it out and put on some antiseptic, unless he has rabies, you willl be fine

If he has rabies, your dead.

But aside from that what are you doing with a dog that you can't control. How much danger are your neighbors in?

Ok I got my shot and I should be fine now, the doctor said i'm lucky it wasnt worse and more than likely the wound should not get infected, got some antibiotics just to make sure it doesnt.

There was a stranger at the gate 2 mins before this happened so the dog was agitated and I guess in all that excitement he didnt want to be chained... other than that its not to say he's out of control, but I think with pitbulls and rottweilers it's their nature to be that way.
