It seems my dog was quite hungry tonight and I didn't see it at all. I was in the same room as her, yet she managed to chew through a X-Box S controller, and chewed my Playstation controller as well(did I mention it was one day old? brand new PS2). She chewed completely through the cords so there is no chance of me being able to use them. Two weeks ago she chewed through my laptop power cable and destroyed it.

Xbox Controller- 25
Playstation Controller- 15
Laptop Power Brick- 70

Me= owned

The thing that gets me is that I was sitting there with her, but I was watching TV. She is pretty sneaky to get away with it, because I always keep an eye on what she is doing. I'm just worried she's going to chew through a live power cable one day and get electrocuted. Any advice?

yea...seems like she had a chewing problem. get her a bone. that way she'll stay off your property and also build better teeth from chewing on that bone

edit...of just saw ur other post...hmm i really dont know. i think there are animal trainers that specialize in pets' behavior problems such as these. but they are prolly expensive

Couldn't you get some heatshrink tube and a soldering iron for that lappy power brick? Seems dumb to replace the whole thing for a chewed wire.

That other stuff might be more difficult though. That sucks.

She chewed the end off, so it would require me tapping new wires or capping them. It would be sort of ghetto especially when carrying it through airport security. I hate to lose it though.

How about you keep an eye on the dog and when it starts to chew on something it isn't supposed to, you whack it and say "NO!" very loudly. Then give it the bone to chew on instead. If you aren't able to catch it in the act then I would take the dog to the controller/power brick, point it out and have the dog see/smell it, then say "NO!, BAD DOG!" really loud and smack it.

When the dog starts chewing on something of yours... throw something that will be a bit painful and frightening at the dog to make it associate chewing your things with pain.

My dog is fond of doing the same thing. He's good all morning so when I come home at lunch I see nothing. Then he goes on a tear in the afternoon after I've left. A few days ago I got really sick of it and I told him nicely, but firmly, that if there was one single thing chewed when I got home I'd own his ass. In those exact words too. No problems since (knock on wood). Dogs fear the pwnage I guess. *shrugs*

Best of luck on getting her to stop chewing your things though.

I had a dog that ate a CD once - case and all. I don't know how. Guess he was pissed at something.

If his pee pee was in the position to be chewed by a dog, something is wrong.

maybe he sleeps nekkid and his dog thinks his pee pee as:

If you want him to stop, take some non-toxic nail polish remover or enamel and coat all the wires he could ever chew with it. When he goes to chew it, it will taste horrible and he will eventually unite the bad taste with all wires and stop chewing. Worked on our beagle anyways

carry a small squirt gun around the house filled with vinegar... anytime you see her chewing something, barking, etc. squirt some in her mouth... they hate the taste and start going crazy:evil:
