Doesn't it suck when your RA is hitting on the girl you like (and winning)?

Short story:
There is a girl that lives on my floor (no I am not a freshman, I am junior and I like the honor's dorms) that is a perfect match for me. We both really like each other but she is cathlic (sp?) and I am nontheist. So she won't consider going out b/c it could never lead to marriage (she thinks this far ahead). Last night my RA hits on her and she responses possitivly. I just needed to vent. If there any comments or ideas, please post.

Let me ask you this, what makes you think she likes you? Did you she tell you that or did you decide that yourself?

If she won't even date you because you are not a catholic, she probably wouldn't give you head in the back seat of a car either.

Point? How do we know that it's related to religion, really? I mean, it could be that he isn't even Catholic, but she's responding because he's better looking or has something to offer, which you don't. :Q

But for real, if you're so interested in this lady, why is it difficult for you to choose? I know that religion is a significant issue in relationships that involve kids at the end. I mean you can survive it, but it's very difficult. Why make life so much harder? Love is arguably a necessary condition, but it is not a sufficient condition as far as marriage, in my opinion.

P.S.: She's probably thinking ahead about marriage because she's not one who likes to mess around. Why don't you just find your type instead of trying to change someone or have her compromise?

I know she likes me b/c she has said it. We have had a long converstation about this. ***This conversation was before she ever met the RA, this is our second RA this semester.*** Sex is not an issue. I have had sex, I enjoy sex but that is not what I am after (SSRIs calm those cravings). She is waiting for marriage so that takes sex out of the equation. The RA is methadist, which is a hell of a lot closer to her's than mine. She doesn't try to convert me but she does answer any questions I have about her religon and I don't try to convert her. I believe a lot of people need religon but it is not for me.

luvly: I think I am somewhere between like and love. I have not been able to spend enough time with her to qualify for I think love is. I will not lie to her about what I believe. If I did go to mass with her, she would believe that I have converted b/c she knows that I would rather shoot myself in the foot than listen to religon for an hour but I can't do that to her.

SuperTool: I know it won't work. I want her to be happy but I don't like to watch her and the RA be happy right in front of me.

UCDznutz & AnyMal: If she didn't live so close to me it be easier. Also, she is who I talk to most of the time, she keeps me sane and grounded. She is my lifeline. When I just did calc for hours or can't get something to go right, she is the one that I get a hug from. Plus, we have the same friends.

Most of the time girls who say crap like "oh its my religion" are a bunch of bs.
How about you go out and find someone else and show her.
