Doesn't it seem like these end of the world quacks are getting more common?

I mean we have those nutballs down in Florida, pretty much the entire religious right including Glenn Beck, that idiot Rush Limbagh, the Mayan calendar loons, and now Britney Spears releases 'Till the World Ends' video.

Really when have no many big quacks happen so close together

FYI that video is the prequel to one of her other vids form years ago that was already post-apocalyptic. Not sure her video is related to the actual EotW nuts

Probably because the lizard people who forged Obama's birth certificate have gone in cahoots with the 9/11 planning Republicans to cause all of the recent Pacific rim earthquakes. Fukushima was not a random event, but part of a well oiled conspiracy to release highly mutagenic radiation into the ocean and wake up Godzilla. Mothra is already awake and hiding, as a result of the New Zealand earthquakes.

More seismic activity will awaken King Ghidorah, who will rise with Godzilla and Mothra, right before the landing of Mechagodzilla from outer space. They will rain destruction down upon us for all of 2012, fulfilling the Mayan prophecy :(

The closer you get to a place, the more you talk about that place.

Also, the longer you are on a road to a destination, the more frequently it will be asked, "are we there yet?".

So, doomsday. Are we there yet? Kinda starting to get annoyed, all these people toying with my emotions like that.

It's the Economy. People are getting Depressed, World seems to be ending, they get Mystical, and start thinking Jesus/The Next Doomahicker/Pasta is coming.

Just ride it out, don't do anything stupid, and it will all work out. One of these times someone will do something stupid and things will get really bad, but in a few Centuries or perhaps a Millenia, Humanity will be back on track again.

As far as end of the world predictions go, almost everyone that buys in is sure it will happen during their lifetime. I think the net and media coverage just makes it easier for them to be heard tis all.

I heard an explanation about this from a sociologist awhile ago, and that was the gist of it basically and it made a lot of sense.

The Internet just lets them reach a bigger audience.

However, there is a legend that says if a certain number of people predict the end of the world, it will cause the end of the world.

So....KNOCK IT OFF!!!!!

Well considering we might have a brown dwarf star orbiting around the sun in our solar system. Yeah we just might all be screwed.
