Hello all, new guy here. The other day I moved my whole PC room from upstairs to downstairs. When I got everything moved and hooked back up, my pc wouldnt boot up. It turned on, the hard drive would spin, but nothing would boot. Moniter just went into sleep mode. Talked to my Father and he said same thing happened to him, and it was his processor. What gets me is before I moved the pc, I was messing around on it and it was working fine. 20 min later, it wont boot up. Anyone have an idea???

Welcome to the Forum.

2 possibilites:

1. Something got knocked loose. Reseat your memory, cards and double check power cables, especially the mobo cable. If you have an AMD, be sure you didn't crack your core from jostling your heatsink around.

2. You have bunk power at the new location. Run an extension cord back upstairs to test this.

I'm betting it's #1. With LAN parties and people carrying PC's around I see this a lot.

good luck.

Check power at the new location and then make sure the PS switch is on and plugged in properly. Next, open the case and (as was mentioned) pull and reseat your video card and your RAM. Make sure the heatsink fan on your cpu is plugged in properly and that the unit itself is not "hanging" loose. Check the rest of the case for anything that looks out of place or that may have come loose. Should be fine.
