it comes with some thermal compound, but it is advised to use arctic silver 5, since it is recognized as one of the best thermal compound available. By the way, didn't you want better thermal conductivity with the zalman 7000b?

You might check Zalman's site to see what they do come with, most good aftermarket HS's come with Arctic Silver Ceramique which is just as good as AS5. Certainly not worth buy an extra tube of compound if you don't need it.

it comes with a small tube of silicone (white) thermal paste. only enough for about one (two if you have like an athlonXP or something with a bare core).

good enough, and still better than the thermal pads.

I comes with compound but I'd go with AS5 anyhow.

Does anyone know what the stuff that the XP90 comes with is? I didn't use it for the heatsink itself, but the tube is large and if it is ceramique, I could use it for other purposes.

It's not Ceramique, it's some sort of white silicone compound.
