I just noticed that every computer on the drexel campus uses Fixefox now. Most dont even have an IE icon on the desk. All of them do however have a Firefox icon. AWESOME STUFF
I go to drexel btw

At first i thought that students installed it until over the past couple weeks ive seen it on every computer.

Any why does FF suck? Because its faster, more secure and infinitely more customizable then IE or any other browser for that matter. Ya, thats what I thought.

especially with the little tweak that allows it to connect to multiple servers for faster page loading. Why does it suck? I havent ran adaware in months because i usually find little to no spyware using FF

It's on the image but its not setup as the default browser. They just ghost them if they become full of spyware.

Not on my system. I love the interface, but I always have to load plugins that never work and it's by far the slowest loading browser. IE is definitely quickest, but since opera is barely slower i use that...no plugins, tabbed browsing and mouse gestures

Have you changed the pipeline settings in the about:config screen?

Once again, its INFINITELY customizable. Its a simple matter to make FF faster, and your just wrong if you think IE is faster, and probably never mess around with the settings.

They have Firefox, Netscape, IE, and several other browsers installed on the ones at K-State. And of course you can just get on the network and use whichever one you want on your own computer.

They also rewrote a lot of the code for several of the major sites so that they work well on both Macs and PCs and several different browsers.

They've certainly done a good job of giving people a choice as to what to use for e-mail and internet.

Yes. The computers in the Geography lab and the classroom computers all have Firefox. But computers in the libraries don't. The dumb ass Liberal Arts lab is half Macs (What do Macs have to do with Liberal Arts?) and half Dells with only IE.

Firefox not so secure?

So its not 100% secure like it used to be, everyone knew this would happen as its popularity grew. It wasn't that FF wasn't vulnerable, its that nobody wasted their time trying to figure out how to exploit it when IE was so much easier and would affect so many more people.

FF is still 100% more secure then IE.

Firefox on my computer and 2 or 3 others in the school. I lobbied to get it installed on mine and was finally permitted to do so. They're studying it to see if it would be worth the effort to install it on the rest of the computers.
