Does your office throw parties or cakes for birthdays and such?

We used to get together a lot more as a group when morale within the office was higher. Now we celebrate as a smaller department rather than with the whole office but if something big happens, like a wedding or a baby, then the office "courtesy fund" kicks in. There used to be birthday announcements on the PA, but I haven't heard one in months.
