Does your MX1000 mouse do this?

It's not flat.

With my hand on it, using my Everglide Giganta mousepad, it "falls" off or rocks to either side. ie, i pres down on the thumb button and let go, it falls over to other side.

Needless to say it's rather irksome and unusable in this state.

Does anyone else have this mouse and have the same problem? I wanted to check if it was just my mouse or a manufacturing defect with the model.

Driving me nuts, since I -want- to keep it but can't based on this annoyance.

I have no clue what you mean, does the mouse rock back and forth? My MX1000 is perfect, so you either have a warped desk or mousepad or your mouse is bad.

it isn't balanced, gee now that you point it out, my original description seems way too wordy.

it does not stay flat on the pad. which i use with my wireless intellimouse 2.0 just fine.

I've heard of this problem posted before. It's not common though. Mine does not have this problem, its very....stable?

MY guess is it has a manufacturing defect. RMA it.
