I just read the local news sites and then get to work. I can barely read the major news sites anymore as they sensationalize everything.

In the morning I pretty much just sync my podcasts and scroll through Google Reader to catch up on the news.

I barely go on the internet in the morning. No time at home, and where I work, it's an open area where everyone can see your screen, so I don't surf.

When I'm on a night shift I tend to check AT, HardForum, my own forums, Reddit, facebook, youtube etc. in no particular order. If I'm really bored I might even start reading one of our many DMS200 books lying around the office. Really, that's what I SHOULD be doing, so I can learn more stuff pertaining to my job. :p But as long as I'm watching my alarms and stuff it's pretty lax what we can do.

During daytime hours though we avoid any kind of stuff like that just because it makes it look like we do nothing all day. We're kinda like the fire department, if there's no fires we're not doing much, but when there's a fire it's go go go go.

Same here. Very reactionary job. Fortunately our friendly technical director set up my desk facing away from the door so nobody can see what I'm doing.

My morning consits of ironing my work shirt while watching Married with Children reruns. I don't get on the internet in the morning at all.

Check and update my machine if I didn't do it the night before.
Scan over the forums I frequent to see if anyone replied to my posts specifically.
