Does your modem run hot?

My external modem runs hot. Easily 50 centigrade through the plastic case. It's not just this one that does so, my old one did too.
I've been thinking about an internal modem. Are internal modems hot if you touch them? Try it (if you dare). Are software modems cooler than hardware modems, are AMR/CNR modems any cooler still?...

Get an internal from newegg, make sure it's a "HARDWARE" modem. You wont have to install any drivers, heat will be kept to a minimum, and it's cheap. Get a US Robotics 2977, you wont regret it.
