I had a couple when I first got my Dell 1704FPV but they only showed up using the analog connection. I've been using the digital one (DVI) for a long time. I just tried VGA the other day and I didn't see any dead pixels so I don't know what the deal was with that...

I have one or 2 stuck-white sub pixels on my laptop, but I can't find them now.

Of the 3 I own, My Acer 17" has one dead pixel in the upper left. Newegg says 8 dead pixels to RMA.

I have 3 LCD monitors. Two of them have on stuck pixel, one red ( very annoying) and one yellow which is only noticable if you really look. The other LCD is dead pixel free.

You know I was thinking how lucky I am on this matter a few days ago. Since the first LCD I bought back 4 years ago I haven't had 1 dead pixil yet!. All the LCDs I ever had are in the house right now. My old Syncmaster 191T+ is now my mom's with no dead pixil. My Dell 24" with no dead pixil my dad's aopen 19" LCD non, and my Asus W3V laptop with non. I just hope my luck doesn't run out when I buy a 37-42" 1080p LCD!

was about to buy a monitor on line from Tigerdirect, but I talked to a guy from there and he's telling me that it's standard for companies not to replace a monitor unless there are 5 dead pixels. the Hyundai L90d has a warranty that says 3 dead pixels. I've read else where that in the current market dead pixels should be a thing of the past and should not be acceptable. What does everyone think about this... do you think it's acceptable to buy a monitor with a dead pixel and have no return recourse?

I've owned 3 LCD monitors personally (not counting laptops) and have never had dead pixels on any of them. Even the oldest (4 yrs.) has none. I've also bought/set up 3 LCDs for the company I work for and none of them had dead pixels. I think the problem is very rare if you buy good brands.

Tried any of the fix applications? They strobe red/blue/green over and over... sometimes it fixes dead pixels.

I have three 17" Sony LCDs and none of them have a dead pixel. I had four before and that one didn't have a dead pixel either. Sony rocks.
