People who have guns, ammo, food and water squirreled away are going to be the first to be relieved of their possessions and lives by the bad guys after a catastrophic event. Why would they bother the family who has nothing?

I would stand outside watching the baddies barricade the only door you have to escape from after your food and water ran out. Oh, maybe you forgot something, like air. The baddies could easily block your air vents and you would be begging them for mercy in six or eight hours.

No it's not. What you have is a hardened security but will not keep you safe in a real life threatening emergency such as a tornado. Granted you may or may not be in an area that encounters such severe weather. An EF5 is incredible!

Even more incredible is this room can survive this kind of hit - on the surface!

I bet you never had salad tossed like this!

120mph wind creates missiles - even soft objects will obliterate a typical dwelling wall!

How clean is YOUR yard?
I had the last two videos opened simultaneously and I was watching the last video. Right when they were showing the blast through the wall, the woman was saying how it didn't affect it...

I knew a guy who had a secret panic room / bar behind some bookshelves. The room was conveniently behind their giant tv, so they made it their A/V and home server room as well.

Now that's a panic room.

My air vents double as flame throwers. As they moved in to block them, I would release the fuel. After I caught them on fire I would go out and remove the barbecued meat from their corpses for later consumption.

I was watching a documentary the other night on the Maersk Alabama. When the pirates boarded it the crew hid in a panic room that even had auxiliary controls for piloting the ship.

No. I have some bottled water and canned food that gets used and replaced periodically. Gas for a couple of generators. One of the generators will power our community well. The generators get fuel replaced and get run every 6 months.
We live out in the country and have many armed neighbors, our community would be a very bad choice to 'invade'.

What a dumb place for a secret panic room. The first thing the thieves are going to take is that giant tv. "Oh look! A panic room too! And look at the cute people cowering in the corner."

I desperately want to get a "Secret Room" in our next/final house. Wife and I would love the novelty factor.

I suppose it could be a panic room, somewhere to sleep if you are home alone and not feeling well.

I'm picturing a secret room, wall to wall bookshelves, a bay window. Little desk w/ computer, and nice big cushy couch w/ ottoman.

If it's got a window, it's going to be hard to keep it a secret.

Just go in the closet and close your eyes. Bad guys never look in closets.

Well that's silly. Several high powered machine guns are probably more effective when it comes to killing pirates.

Did I forget to mention also that my safe room has 40 kegs of beer, a Playstation 4 (yes, PS4), and also a big red button and if I press it Jessica Biel pops out of stasis where she is kept in the closet? :)

I don't think I'd ever leave that room.
