managers assemble twice a year to evaluate and cull employees as if they were head of cattle

anyone described as needing improvement has six months to either get up to standard or scram.

I wish my company would follow this policy and actually get rid of the dead weight around here. Some people do not do anything around here. Nothing but check collectors.

Yeah, those people suck - I hate how they do nothing all day but go on the web, and act like they're really working.... oh crap - here comes my boss, time to look busy. I'll be back later guys!

Yup thats the beauty of being in a union ,you can only get fired for attendance.I've told managers many times to their face to burn in hell.

There is a guy that comes into his office early in the morning, opens his door, and turns on his PC. The next time you see him is around 2 pm. He, then generally leaves around 4. This is a regualar occurance.

Around me, there was a huge layoff after we got taken over, so all these worthless deadbeats were given the boot.

I work for a college and around there everyone who has worked for 3 years automatically gets tenure, even the janitor. I know, WTF? Anyway, once people get tenure it's like suddenly they aren't employees, they're only around to collect money. They do the least amount of work possible and it makes me sick. I also hate the fact that somehow they forget that the students are our "customers". We're there to service them, there's no other the reason the school is open, but most of them don't see that.

we get a review once a year, but its just to see how much of a raise we will get. Last year I got $3 an hour increase. Can't wait to see what happens this year.
