Does your ear flutter when a phone rings?

Sometimes when a phone rings my eardrum or something else in my ear flutters. It's not the normal vibration caused by sound, I actually hear and feel a fluttering sensation. It doesn't matter if it is an old bell based phone or one with an electronic ringer. That makes me think it may be a mental thing. Anyone else have this?

I don't believe so...but an electrochemical message is sent to my brain saying "hey asshole, your phone is ringing!" does that count?

I know what feeling you are talking about. You know the "popping" sound in Sim City 2000 when you place trees? My ears used to do that same fluttering thing when I heard that, and sometimes other noises. It passed with time, I didn't treat it at all.

To describe it, it sounds like a dragonfly or small bird is flying right next to your ear.

I get that if I hear a sound, while I'm concentrating on something, or reading.

Yes. It's vibrations in your ear drum. The Ossicles pick up the vibrations and feel like a flutter when the vibrations are acute enough and hit the right frequency.... When they are transmitted through the Cochlia, you can sometimes even feel the vibrations in your teeth.
