For me, I think it seriously messes me up.. or messed me up rather.

My biological clock is really screwed up.. I go to bed around 4 AM.. and wake up at noon.

It keeps me entertained and I have a habit of staying on the computer browsing aimlessly for hours until I get tired.

It also affects my school life... my social life, makes me inactive, etc.

I used to be so active... healthy, a good social life, with a balanced academic life.
It started in late high school.. and 3 years after graduating high school, it's been worse and worse

I know people have a way of controlling their time spent on PCs.. but either I have no motivation to do anything else or I just have to be attached to it.

Anyways, I'm moving in two months to a different state, I probably would not be able to pay for internet access... I'll just be using my cell phone to use the internet. Hopefully I get my life back into shape... like how I used to be when i was internet-free

Back in my teenage, Commodore 64 days (pre-www) I would stay up all night on BBS's with my 300 baud modem.

now-a-days I am still on alot, but I have other things to do also....

It especially sucks when you use your computer for work and play. I spend way too much time on my computer but there's not much I can do about it.

same here

but i've recently picked up guitar .. so that helps a little. keeps me AFK

This reminds me of this device that I saw once that would control the power to your monitor via a set of pedals under your desk. Stop peddling and your monitor would shut down.

I actually think video games have done more harm to my life then computers. But they are so much fun!

..I read a lot more and no longer watch TV..I think I'am better off. really enjoy reading now a days.

as soon as you get a 9-5 job that revolves around a computer, you will find yourself hardly using your computer at home.

atleast thats how i am. when i get home, i hardly ever use my computer except to burn stuff on dvds or cds.

So great to see another C=64 BBSer keepin' the spirit alive.

Like mosh said, I am on mine way too much, in the winter especially. In the summer, golf takes over. But... the way I see it, I'd probably be addicted to something far more negative if it weren't for the 'puter. I have an extremely addictive personality - I can get hooked on just about anything. My poor wife though, she should definitely get more hang time because she's the coolest.

🙂 You can tell the OP is either younger, or was ignorant of BBSs back in the day. I spent more late nights in BBSs, than the internet. THEY WERE SLOWER!!! 😛
