Does your company have low morale?

Do most people like to work there, or they just drudge along? Company I work at, the morale is really really low. People are treated like "Hey slave, get to work, otherwise we will fire your $10/hr dumbass". That is with the office employees (customer service, business development, etc).

For factory workers, replace the word slave with "Fvkers" and $10 with $7. You get the feeling that people are being used and taken advantage of. People quit from there all the time. Since it's in a small town with no other places to work, the company has a steady stream of willing surfs. There are 3 people over there who are so rude, that people joke that if they quit from here, no other place would ever hire them.

The most commong thing at the company is blaming others for your mistake. No one wants to take the blame or own up, even for the smallest mistakes, because they will get fired. Disagree with your supervisor slightly, and you are told right after you get off work, to never come back again.

I need to get out of here fast!

Only people who are usually happy are the top level managers. The ones who make > $200,000 / year and get $20,000-$100,000 bonuses. The rest of the people have no reason to go on...

I think my company's morale went down the hole once all the managers took a fat cut in pay.

Having seen both sides of the story, used to be in the slave driver...and (unfortunately) now am the slave. But with the job market in its present condition, I'm thankful for any chance I get.

Morale where I work is pretty good, we don't get paid well, but we aren't struggling along at $10 an hour ... (I believe my company pais about 5 to 10% less for IT jobs than the average, af course, it helps to know this company is not outsourcing, and not planning on it, as well as the fact that this company does well during recessions. (excellent job security)

Morale is low where I work too. Everyone was pretty much a happy camper until we got bought by a giant corporation a few years ago. Perks slashed. Bennefits slashed. Hiring frozen. Wages frozen (and no where near competitive). Getting much needed equipment upgrades is like pulling teeth. Ahhh... gotta love corporate America.

good morale
pay isnt great, but the management is easy going for the most part, even when you mess something up, christmas bonus is a weeks pay in cash, you get a week paid vacation, most holidays off, and most of the other employees are pretty cool people

Very low morale.

Most of the clean room employees have had to take about 60 days non-pay or vacation since the beginning of the year. They only get upto 17 days max. PTO. 5 of those days are occuring in the next two weeks.

Moral exremely low.

Our attitude is pretty much "fvck it, we're going to get the axe soon anyway."

Most of my coworkers, totaling well over a thousand, are pretty damned content with their jobs. I feel sorry for all you losers who work for slave machines who rape you every day as you walk in the door.

I'm underpaid... overworked... and so are my coworkers. We work for a stupid, idiotic company that feeds off our hard work and get very little in return. Yes, morale is ALWAYS low.

I get paid very little for the amount of stuff I have to put up with and know. And the higher ups get all the credit. deeko prolly knows what I mean... retail sucks.

I work for a small company and the morale is very low. It's one of those "cash your paycheck before the money runs out" kind of things. At least that's what I get from the way everyone talks.

Good morale, most people in my office really enjoy their work and the pay/benefits are decent.

So that's what that burning was. I thought I was stuck inside of a washing machine.

Good pay doesn't = high morale. I've been on both sides too and find that my personal morale has been very high with the exception of the last 6 months. I'd rather work elsewhere. BTW, my company provides rehab services to humans in need, mostly kids. The work is wonderful, the bosses above me are money hawks with no souls.

Considering that 83% of people will consider changing positions once the economy improves, I'm sure morale is low at a great number of companies. The 83% was reported about a month back by CNN.

A quick message to companies: You need to wake up!! You need to sort out the issues that are making your place of business a miserable place to work. Once the morale improves, productivity will increase!!

I would say morale is low when you ask a co-worker, "How are things?" and they reply with, "Well...I'm still here."
