Does your city have something like this?

Check it out. It's a real-time traffic map of the major freeways here in Houston. There are a few access-controlled roads missing, but you get the idea. As you can see, there are some other cool features, like frequently-updated traffic cameras, a list of accidents and road closures, and even a route builder (which I have yet to use successfully).

Anyway, does your city have something like this? If so, post it here. I'm interested in seeing it. And maybe it could help your fellow citizens out.

BTW, the "US-59 Southwest at Beechnut" camera is right by my house.

That's pretty cool, I wish we did have something like that. It's also freakily like London in the design.....

Snapster, don't worry -- only the freeways are like that. The surface streets are very boring and grid-like.

luvya, LA is very sprawling! That map goes all the way to Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks. So many accidents... 😛

whoa! I was just thinking the other day that there should be something like this.....now to find something for the Michigan area....

metrocommute.com has cameras, but they're a crapshoot... NY needs better coverage. I want something like that pointing out exactly where the accidents are. I think Fausto's thread about the Georgia accident had something similar.

yeah, the NYC metro area needs something a lot better like this system used by houston.

Ikonomi,

This one has cameras you can view of Houston highways. Hey, everyone click on the I-10 west cameras and you can see some of the construction I get to endure every day. It's actually much worse a little farther west and where I-10 meets 610 on the west side.

Hrmm.. That is a good question. I've been here in Columbus for 3 months now, and I haven't experienced any bothersome traffic so far, so I don't pay much attention to these things.
