my closest chinese takeout restaurant rounds up to the nearest quarter and they've been doing that for the years i've ordered take out from them. (i never ate in tho.)

lunch special is 6.25. with tax i get charged 6.75.
tax is only 5% so it should be $6.56.
(i pay with credit card.)

i dont care. the foods good and still the cheapest chinese lunch special around.
not going to quibble over a few cents.

does your chinese restaurant (and any other store u know) round up your bill?

i always rounded up the the dollar when i delivered pizzas. some people would get really pissed because i didnt carry change, but in my eyes if theyre too lazy to get off their ass and get their pizza they can afford to pay the extra 43 cents. not worried about them stiffing me on the tip because they always did anyway.

My 2 local takeout places don't charge for the cents. If it's $19.79 it will be $19.00. $4.37 it will be $4.00.

I appreciate it and usually tip a dollar or two to the cashier. This ends up costing me more but I have no coins jingling in my pocket and they hook me up with more food and free sodas.

No... and there are a lot of Chinese/Korean/Japanese restaurants in my area. I end up rounding things up myself by dumping the change into a coin donation jar.

no.

But you should contact the local news and have them do an expose! How awesome would that be?

why? they give you a receipt, and you dont have to buy from there if you dont want to. there is a reason they are rounding up, theyre just trying to keep it simple.

youre hating "shit" that doesnt matter. its 50 cents. they COULD overcharge you to begin with, that way they will have the time to count out change every time...

and a mandatory tip is to help the guy serving you, not to screw you. start thinking about why people have a business in the first place, or like you said dont ever eat there again and stick with your shitty national chains.
