Does your car have a block heater?

Who lives the farthest north without a block heater and/or interior warmer?
I can't imagine NOT having one, that'd be some kind of wierd tropical utopia or something.

My cousin and her boyfriend from North Carolina came up here a couple years ago, and when he saw the plug on the front of everyone's cars he wondered if we were all driving electric cars up here or something. 🙂

In New York (well excepting maybe the buffalo area) it rarely gets cold enough to be a problem. I don't think it's been below 0 degrees Fahrenheit more than a couple of days this winter.
Right now it's over 40 degrees out. I know it was an option for my car but it's a waste of money when my car will start at like 20 or 30 below zero.

Nope. Itty-bitty 540 CA (only like 400 CCA) Interstate battery has no problem starting my old Honda even in 0 degree (Fahrenheit) weather.

If it was regularly -25 F when I needed to get somewhere, I might consider installing one, but most any car in good tune (even a Civic with 150,000 miles) can start at that temp, and even colder.

I live in Quebec, and I never had a problem starting newer cars. Older cars (93 and under) we always had block heaters on them.

The coldest it ever gets here is just barely cold enough to cause the dew to turn to frost.

so, no, I don't have a block heater. The low temp for tonight is forecast at 32F, which is exactly 0C, and is also colder than average. Usually, it only gets down to about 40-45 this time of year.
