Does Xbox Live tell you when you need to renew?

I just realized my year should be up soon, does Live warn you or do they just not connect you? Or do they autorenew with my CC info that is embedded in MS's system?

I'm not sure if they remind you, but if you log in to xbox.com and go to My Account it should tell you when your membership expires and if it is set to auto-renew (you can also look this up within XBL I believe, but I don't know off the top of my head how to get there).

Yep. I got mine earlier this week telling me they were going to auto-renew me toward the end of the month. I need to hurry up and order a 13-month card from Amazon or Newegg before they debit my account.

You can check to see if it is set to auto renew by going to xbox.com, click on your gamertag near the upper right corner, click My Account, than click Membership Level.

For instance, mine says:
You currently have an
Xbox LIVE Prepaid 1 month Gold Membership Card

Renews: No renewal set.

Even though I have an (outdated) credit card stuck in their system.

EDIT: Hmm, I've always used the 13 month card, so I'm not sure why it says 1 month...

So, should I set to not autorenew because I am sure they would charge me more than if I shopped around for a 12 month live card?

If you're seeing an option to, I wouldn't. They will charge the full 49.99 and you can always save at least a few bucks buying online.

Just checked, I will expire next month. Also queued skate 2 demo to D/L. :) Never really looked into this site much. Actually only once to change CC. Yep, set to autorenew. Gonna shop around for a cheaper card. May as well say a few bucks.

Thanks for your help everyone!

 Amazon and NewEgg both currently have the 12 (+1) month for 38.99 with free shipping.

In for one. I assume I can just add this as soon as I get it and it will add 13 months on top of what I have, correct? Thanks for the info BTW.

Ohh, that would be about the best deal you'll ever find. I miss the $10-off Google Checkout deal. That was another great way to get XBL 12 month cards for super cheap when Buy.com had them on sale.

Yup, it will just tack it on to your current balance (of months).

It doesn't look like you can. I swear you could on the older version of the site. Maybe I'm lucky and my account is grandfathered?

If you use a store bought card it doesn't auto renew. Mine just expired (I got an email) and I'm on silver right now.

That's the word on the street. I'm not sure it was confirmed so we'll see.

Walmart has the 13 month on sale for $30. You can go to Walmart.com, and see if they have any in your area.
