Does Windows 2000 SP3 have those key lockouts like XP SP1?

I've got a customer who has a Windows 2000 server but there is a possibility that the installation may be illegitimate. The installation shows no signs of it but when I asked them for the CDs for it, no one could find them. I doubt these people know much about this stuff and if SP3 has the anti-piracy key lockouts like XP does it'll could trash the installation. I really don't want to have to explain to them that their server is trashed because the person(s) who put in their server originally put in an illegal copy of 2k server. Is it safe to put SP3 on or am I asking for trouble. Also is there some way I can verify with Microsoft, that the customer's copy of 2k server is legitimate?
Thanks.

putting on SP3 won't do anything bad.. I never had problems when installing SP3 for fun on a friends machine which i knew was not legit.

no problems at all. i'd say go for it and install it.

Hmm, so it's probably safe. Is there a way though to check if the key is legal? If it's not, I'd prefer to make them buy a legitimate copy than take any risks.

LOL, i have installed SP2 for office 2k, a pirated version.. and it worked just fine...

Guess MS just cares about the money, not the customers...
