Does Winamp 3 not play WMA files anymore? I installed it and it won't recognize wma's. v2.80 plays them just fine. Maybe they didn't have room to put that feature in because of all the FREAKIN' AOL ICONS they had to stuff into the installer :|

Anyway, why upgrade to lose functionality????

Don't be. It's awesome! Vizualizations are superb, plus it includes a media library and organization tools, an enhanced playlist editor, video support yadda, yadda, yadda.

And I hear it has even more AOL/TW tie ins than before. That its slow, bloated, etc...

Granted, this is what I've heard from posts on here about it, I haven't tried it since I am perfectly happy with QCD.

A little slower, a little bloated, but also more features, so I guess it balances out.

If all you want to use winamp for is to play music, I wouldn't bother downloading version 3. 2.8 is doing just fine for me.

I don't understand the big deal about visualizations in Winamp. Who sits at their computer with the sole purpose of listening to music? I always run IE or a game with it, making the visualizations pointless.

Unless I'm missing something...

I use my computer as my stereo in my bedroom. So when I'm not using it, I have the winamp vizualzations running. Also, I have the line out from my sound card wired to go to my home theater in my living room and I have the SVideo from my vid card running to my TV, adds a great element while listening to music when throwing a party to have the viz on the TV.
