Yes... when it comes to networking Win2k is a champ. There is however another alternative that is better that ICS but will cost you a few bucks. I'm speaking of a cable/DSL router. It not only allows several users to share a single internet connection but also acts as a hardware firewall. Also you don't have to have your ICS gateway ?on? to access the Internet and every PC only needs one NIC. The other advantage is that the router is also a switch instead of just a dumb hub. This means if one PC has only a 10MB NIC it won't reduce your whole network to that speed. The one I bought is made by Linksys (BEFSR41) and you configure it through you web browser. Works great with Win2k and also eliminates the need for any kind of access manager to connect you to your DSL provider. You simply put your user name and password into to configuration of the router. It also has a checkbox to stay connected. So as I see it you will eliminate possibly 3 pieces of software. No more ICS, no more software firewall and no more access manager.
