Does Win2k recognize ata100?

I was reading a review on the Epox 8K7A at hardocp.com. Here is a quote from the review.

"I chose to only run this board under Windows98SE at this time due to issues Win2K has with ATA100 drives. Every drive in this test was an ATA100 unit so I felt it important to exclude Win2k at this time. I spent a considerable amount of time testing this board under Win2K only to be met with abnormal results. Apparently Microsoft is working on a fix, but the current fix makes the BIOS incorrectly state that the drives are running in PIO mode."

Is this true? I am in the process of building a new system, but this information will throw everything off. Do I have to go back to Win98SE?

Ok thanks for the info. Another question though. When I build the new computer and install Win2k will I have to install SP1 then SP2 OR is SP1 incorporated into SP2 so all I have to do is install SP2??? (you catch that?=)
