Does Win2k come w/DirectX ver 7 or higher AND DXMedia ver 6 or higher??

I just got a used video card and on Creative's driver site, it says:

"This release requires the following files to be pre-installed prior to installing this release:


* Microsoft DirectX ver 7 or higher
* Microsoft DXMedia ver 6 or higher
* Latest Creative drivers build 634 or higher "

Wondering if win2k has the first two and the last one I can inquire with Creative's support. Thanks all! 🙂

Update: According to the DirectX Diagnostic Tool (found at dxdiag.exe from the run command) it does confirm that I'm running DXMedia 6.1 BUT it indicates I'm running DirectX v.5.

One would suspect that win2k comes with one of the latest directX drivers, but guess not. Anyone know where I can obtain the latest (relatively bug free) DirectX for win2k?

2nd Edit On microsoft's own website "Windows 2000 supports DirectX 7.0" LOL. Guess that answers it.

Well, guess that helps isolate a problem 🙂 Onwards to the next potential problem to why my video card isn't working properly. Thanks all!
 
Yes, Win2K does include DirectX Media version 6. The basic requirement for this is Media Player version 6.4, which Win2K includes.
