Does Wii have enough violence for me?

I am thinking of a wii or xbox arcade. I think I can get them for $250,200 today, respectively. I first want guitar hero 3 which is $80 for the wii and $100 for the xbox, but personally I like to cut/kill/stab, as a way to deal with the inadequacies in my own life, and I'm really worried that althyough the wii has better games for my kids (as if they need those), it doesn't have as much gore and wanton killing that I can get with the Xbox. This is a valid stance, right?

Stay far from the Wii. The only thing that system is good for is having it around at parties. That is it.

Xbox will bring much more violence into your life. I have a 360 and a Wii (and a PS3 for that matter) and the 360 gets soooooo much more playing time. Partly that's because of online play, which you're probably not interested in if you're getting the Arcade. I'd still recommend getting in on the $30 refurb 20 GB drive you can get from Microsoft if you own an Arcade system. Also, realize that the Arcade doesn't come with component video cables. Not a big deal if you're going to use HDMI.

The Wii comes with a nunchuck. That has to count for something, right?

Do you want to see slow-mo decapitation and dismemberment? Fallout 3 is the game for yoouuuu!!

Ignore the wii if you want a bit of the old ultraviolence, but if you already have a gaming PC you might consider a PS3 instead of 360. Many of the better games on the 360 are also on the PC and play better there.

If you don't have a gaming PC and don't care about the 1080p goodness of blu-ray then go for the 360 over PS3, for better online and often better versions of cross-platform games.

There's enough innocent games on the 360 to not make you feel totally guilty for prioritizing your own bloodthirst over your kids.

You can pick up Viva Pinata for the kids, to teach them that clubbing farm animals to death results in a shower of delicous candy. Just wipe off the blood and them's good eatin'!

... or get the Pro instead of the Arcade, and it comes with Kung Fu Panda. If you've seen Tropic Thunder you know how cuddly pandas are.

There's a lot of violence in Dead Space too! :) Though you can get that for the PC anyway. However, I'd say Gears of War 2 is enough to get the Xbox. No buts :D

Have it rented for tonight!

Honestly I'm torn between GTA4, Fallout 3, and not buying this at all, because I feel it will impact my life's balance negatively.

EDIT:L I mean gta4, fallout3, or gears of war 2. I was a huge fan of Fallout and F2 on the PC. I know this is diff, but it's been so well rated.

 tips:

- it's real-time until you enter VATS mode for targeted shots
- real-time gun damage seems about half as much as VATS shots to me
- skills max out at 100, so don't think an item or chem can raise you above it
- if you want to be good at more things take an INT of 8-9 and the Educated perk at L4
- bobbleheads are your friends, take the one in the vault medical / dad's office and see what happens
- tagging skills just gives you a one-time +15 it does not lower the cost of later points
- books are always +1 unless you take the Comprehension perk (probably worth it, I've found >30 books)
- small guns, explosives (to 40), energy weapons are all good skills. Explosives 40 will let you solve a town's big problem and get you some storage space.
- speech is much less useful than in FO 2, I didn't use it for about the first 1/3 of the game (so you could skip tagging it and just add a couple of levels of points later)

Thanks, I'm so glad this game is well rated. F1 and F2 were truly phenomenal and this is a key reason why I'm coming "out of retirement", since I've not played a video game in four years! Only at night, though for this :)

I loved FO1-2. This is different, but has enough of a true Fallout feel to not be "Oblivion with guns."

PS
- Tesla armor is better than power armor (PA lowers agility = less action points for VATS :( )

- The condition of items has a big effect on the damage they do.

- Repair isn't documented in the manual, but it's simple: take 2 of the same or sometimes similar items (10mm Pistol can repair Silenced 10mm Pistol), pick one to repair, pick the other one to use as parts for the repair. Your skill sets the limit on how high you can repair to (max 100%)

- You can pay bottlecaps to repair something up to what the skill level of the merchant allows, but most can't even repair items to 50%. If you have a high skill you might want to first pay caps for a partial repair before using (your own skill + a second copy of the weapon / armor) to repair it more:

- you have a missile launcher that is condtion 20%
- you pay to repair it up to 40%, the highest they can go.
- you use a second missile launcher (condition 10%) to repair +10% to = 50%
(If you did your own repair first, the merchant could still only repair to 40%)

Repair is an essential skill in FO3 especially to improve the condition of rare items. Tag repair and put a lot of points into it.
