Does Vista slow down bandwidth?

My gf has a mac, and I am running a pc with vista. Both sharing same cable modem / bandwidth. In games, her latency is 98ms, mine is 258ms. Wonder if vista is causing this.
Running NOD32 and Windows Defender.
Same Router, both are wired/not wireless.

Some people I know said their connection was faster with Vista. Is QOS set to favor her computer on the router?

Not sure. I have qos checked in my network config, should it be unchecked?

No that's fine for Windows setup. This is what I'm talking about. I don't know what router you have, but with mine priority can be given to specific computers on the network. It's something to check, but I don't really think that's your problem. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to networking, but I'll look over my settings and see if anything jumps out at me that could be causing your problems.
