I have not used Vista yet.
Gmail's labels are like folders, but a file can belong to multiple folders at once (something impossible with a physical filing cabinet). Does XP have a feature like this? If I use it to organize the files on an external disk, will that external disk still be viewable from Windows XP? I read that Vista had "tags" of some sort that would allow what I'm looking for, but I don't want to actually alter the metadata of the files themselves... I just want Vista's filing system to store the tag assignments (if that makes sense).
Thanks!
