Does video card work harder with same res on 2 monitors?

If you have two monitors at 1920x1080 and mirror the desktop to each, does the video card just output the same image to both or does it need to generate it for each? In other words does it take any more video processing power to mirror a desktop to two monitors instead of just one? Would think not but not sure.

No more video processing power. I'd assume a little more memory if you are running Aero but nothing of consequence.

The main card will use more power and operate at a higher temperature because they need more juice to power two monitors at once to avoid flickering.

I think cards won't drop to the lowest power profile if two monitors are attached. Doesn't seem to run the card any harder, just uses more juice.
