Does Verizon try to rip you off every month?

Every month for the past 6-10 months when I receive my Verizon wireless bill, I have a $10-$15 "additional services" charge on it. I call them up every month and ask what it is, they tell me its for nights/weekends or some other crap and that it is an error, and are happy to remove it. I ask them if it will happen again next month, and they say "no", but it always does.
This month they even screwed up my package price plan, I have two phones, both $39.99 - 21% work discount, and my monthly package prices were $46.xx and $47.xx. WTF?? Again, called them and they were happy to fix it. It is starting to get really old! I wonder how many people just pay the price without scrutinizing their bill and get ripped off?!

I have 2 phones as well. For some reason they only apply my work discount to one of them, even though they say I can get the discount on up to 3 phones. Every time I call them, they credit my account, but I'm really starting to get tired of it.

I'm paying over 30 bucks a month for local service, this is after cancelling my long distance.

Will be switching to vonage as soon as I get broadband

My Verizon wireless bill always looks higher than it should be, but usually upon scrutinizing it, it just seems like there's always $9 in taxes. :|

We get the same crap, my stepdad works on his Verizon phone. Bill usually avg's around $250-$300/before the new plan he just signed up for. Signed plan for $150/month, everything included (mind he doesn't go over minutes or anything) and we usually get a bill for around $210-$230. Either that or they say we didn't even pay our last bill and we end up having to take the check stub up there, after we' actually handed the bill to the cs person @the desk.

For us, Verizon is the suck-

Yes, I always have fcking $9 on avg in taxes... why? Well, for starters, in St.Mary's, MD they will charge you a 911 fee, even though I never fcking used 911. Then they hit me with the MD fee, and federal fees, and the there's a long list. It mainly amounts to BS, but you have to pay it.

On the last month of my wireless contract they tried to charge me roaming charges even though I live in the middle of a service area known as Dallas / Fort Worth wtf? So my bill was like 600 some odd dollars I called to figure it out and end up having to argue bout why i was getting charged roaming fees. They fix it but leave the $90+ taxes on there. I have to call back after this appears and argue with some chick who tells me there is nothing she can do I have to pay the taxes.

I reply back with its your company's mistake I am not paying over $100 worth of crap that was not my fault. Now at this point you are probably wondering "What was his response!!?!!" My response I didnt have time to respond damn trick hung up on me at that point. I call back and get ahold of a supervisor and start complaining but oh lo and behold the rep I just talked to never made notes that I called like they normally do. It ended up with the Super letting me figure what my bill should be. I just told her the regular amount that my bill had been for the last two years EVERY MONTH. I paid and dropped them like a bad habit. :( That was HELL.

the real question is, does ONLY verizonwireless charge you this?? if not, it seems kind of moot to be b1tching about it.

Gotta look at the cost effectiveness in the long run. Overall, look at how much you will have to pay in the 2 year contract that you are currently in. It that total cost is MORE than the early termination fee, termination fee is cheaper. Also you can sell your Verizon phones too to recover some of the costs.

Verizon is great for me. They haven't made a mistake on my bill in 3 years (and that was fixed quickly then), and coverage and service are the best.

And bleeb, I find it hard to believe he can save more than $350 in less than 2 years.

i've only had good experiences with verizon too. i know i could get more minutes for the same money, but i hardly ever use up my minutes anyways, so i dont feel the need to switch. the one time i lost my phone and some jackass racked up charges in voice messaging fees, verizon credited my account the following pay period.

i've had Sprint, AT&T and now Verizon, i'm pretty much with verizon for Life. i've had more bad experiences with AT&T then i have with Verizon, Sprint's CS was pretty good, but their coverage is HORRIBLE in this area, so horrible coverage means NO CONSIDERATION from me. for me Coverage is #1 Priority. i can live with some of the inconviniences of Verizons CS because their coverage is so good.

my monthly bill is usually around 45-47 bucks (on a 40 dollar plan). assuming i dont go over, that 5-7 bucks includes taxes, whatever little fees they now have (phone # portability crap), and text messaging fees. im stuck in a contract till october 2005. at least now i have unlimited mobile to mobile (which is hot since all my friends are on verizon), 400 anytime min., and unlimited night/weekend min.

Sprint is just as bad, pretty much every month there is some issue or another with my bill, its gotten to the point that if it doesn't make much of a difference then I've just been letting it go. Don't have the engery to call and argue with them every month, just to end up asking for a supervisor and having them correct the charges.

Funny, I had this same problem and more with Cingular. I switched last year.

Verizon has been great.

That's true, does anyone else get charged a 911 fee? Any specific county fees? I seem to get hit up for at least $4/month b/c of these 2.

I had Sprint PCS before and didn't like their limited coverage.

Now with Verizon and love it!

I worked for them before and it is common practice in LD now it is worse in wireless! they think people do not read their bills anymore.
