If things are still the way they were when I lived in the UK

Vauxhall (UK) = Chevy (USA) = Opel (Germany)

Small cars don't sell well in the US.

It's a nice looking car though; I'd buy it :)

they're coming though.

part of the reason small cars don't sell well here is that they're usually super cheap economy cars. functional, but nothing you'd actually want to be in for any longer than necessary. before the bmw mini there wasn't a premium small car in the US. now we've got the mini, the A3, and S40. we're also getting the first wave of small cars that aren't completely cheap economy cars, such as the mazda3 and the new nissan sentra (though the corrola and civic were never that awful, they weren't that nice either).

A3/S40/Mazda 3 are not that small in the European markets, not compared to other truely small cars (like the Corsa).

Yea nice little cars, quite feminine i think though, do they sell peugeot at all in America?

Nah, no French cars here at all. I've wondered why though, since they'd probably sell alright here in Canada (and perhaps parts of the US).

Yea i've wondered that too why some manufacturers never get their cars out to that area! doesnt make sense, there cant be THAT little of a market

you can't compare english diesel mpg to us gasoline mpg. firstly, an english gallon is slightly larger than a US gallon. secondly, diesel fuel contains more energy per volume than gasoline. best way to compare would be distance/energy content of fuel.

Fuel is sold in gallons, so you can compare mpg, since that's what we get, miles for the gallons we buy (for the end user that's the fuel economy that matters).
But euro/US mpg can't be compared without conversion.

GM has hinted that it's Saturn division here in the U.S. will draw heavily from Opel in the future. The Saturn Sky is already being sold as an Opel. The Saturn Aura draws heavily from Opel styling. And the future Saturn Ion will be based on Opel Astra.

and the aura kind of looks like This i can see that they might be basically the same car.

They share the same platform, and some of the exterior styling is similar but they are far from being the same car. For one, the Aura is 190" while the Vectra is 180", because of the difference in what a "midsize" car is between America and Europe. Also the interiors are nothing alike. Also the engine combinations are completely different, as are the transmissions.

Alright, it was based on the Vauxhall VX Lightning concept.
