Curious in your experiences, is the probability of encountering a douche bag higher than average if they have a vanity license plate?

In my experience, people with vanity plates are much less likely to be idiotic, unaware drivers (cut you off then drive slow, go slow in the fast lane, "pass" the car in front by switching lanes and going the same speed, don't move up to give room to people trying to go into a turn lane, slowly pass yellow lights fucking over everyone behind them, waits forever to start moving on green, etc.).

Note: I do not have a vanity plate.

It really depends on what it says. If you have a Toyota SUV with "Ferarri" (spelled wrong), then yes! If you have a Ferrari with "umadbro", then no.

And, for the record, there is a Toyota SUV driving around Montgomery, AL with that exact plate.

Depends on the plate and car I'd say. some of them are outright popped collars.

But, I saw a rusted out Dodge Neon and the vanity plate was "Plan B".

Now there is a funny.

It's hard to say. On the one hand we have midlife crisis dbags driving convertible miatas with a VRRM plate, and on the other we have moms driving minivans with a 3KIDS plate. They're both likely to be bad drivers, but only the first one is likely to be a dbag in person.

If it references your profession or the type of vehicle you drive, probably. Double points if you are a lawyer and you do one of the above.

My Mom has the initials of her grandkids in order of their birth on her plates. It means nothing to anyone else and it's easy for her to remember when they check into hotels or camping sites. And she's about the most modest, quiet and courteous person I know. Definitely not a DB.

Lots of dudebros in my area have vanity plates.

Usually, 1st generation kids from immigrant families that have some crap in the own language about how awesome they are on their plates,.. coupled with a decal on their window of a some cartoon character peeing on the flag of their country's enemy.

And, yes - they are douchebags.

It depends. Is the tag on my car or someone else's?

When I owned a 76 Suburban I really wanted "PB SLED" but it was taken plus I was a penniless hippie and couldn't afford the tag anyway. :(

So all you people that have

mustangs and have any version of pony or pny (also cobra Shelby etc)
or VW Bugs that have the word bug
Mini Coopers that have Mini or lil or little
BMWs that have Beemer or bmr
Cadillacs that have caddy
Hummer owners that have HMR or hummer or hum
or any car owners with the model or brand in their plate

This one made me laugh when I saw it on a '09 Mustang driving through Ohio.

It's a state law that any truck here in MS must have at least one of those three things on it.
