I want to buy an external USB DAC for playing music through my Android phone.
A lot of external DACs nowadays have built-in battery banks, so they can power the DAC and charge the phone, but not at the same time, at least with Android. Once connected to Android OTG, you can either use the DAC and play music, or charge the phone using the DAC's battery bank, but not simultaneously.
At the same time, external DACs with battery banks that use Apple's Lightning port can do both simultaneously. You can play music through the DAC and have your iPhone charging at the same time.
So.... what's going on here? Is it a limitation of the micro-usb port that doesn't allow simultaneous OTG host and charging? Or is it a limitation of Android?
