Does UPS ever offer any concessions?

I took time off to wait for an important package. It went "out for delivery this morning," but no delivery attempt was made and it's now rescheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I usually don't have any problems like this and I don't expect them to do anything about it. Is it even worth calling to complain?

Call them and tell them youll pick it up at UPS.
After 1 delivery attempt, they can hold it at the desk for you.

DHL is *NUTS* in terms of service. They occasionally do stupid things, though, like ignoring "DELIVERIES TO FRONT DOOR" signs.

I've only had one problem ever with them, which was my 2005FPW taking 2 weeks to be delivered... but whatever...

At work, whenever we have to ship a part back to Dell, Dell pays for DHL service. We call DHL, and within 5 minutes they are there.

How can they offer the "guaranteed 10:30am delivery" then? I don't see how they can advertise there being a guarantee without them holding up their end of the agreement and refunding your shipping costs. Next-Day shipments are expensive, I'd be pissed if I spent that sort of money to get a critical package somewhere on time and it didn't arrive when they were supposed to deliver it.

ya.. call and complain

I complained to UPS for repeatedly waiting about 5 seconds at the door while I would jump out of bed, throw some shorts on, and run to the door only to see a UPS truck driving off with a blank UPS notice left at the door..

Now, they knock really loud and wait a good 45 seconds before leaving. Also, they'll leave things with my neighbors too (convenient for me usually).
