Hey all, though maybe this could really help some people out. I might be seriously considering this apperatus (sp) for my next AMD cpu purchase!! Or heck maybe even now! I like big fans. :) What do you guys think?

I mean, instead of using that Monster Alpha 8045.. lets say a Pal6035 with this could be good..?! and no screwing into the mobo.. worth a shot?

yes, many people swear by this combo. It is a very good idea, and has many advantages: more airflow with lower speed, quieter fan, can use smaller heatsinks, removes "dead spot" on heatsink, etc.

Yeah, some people really like those. My opinion is that you should just go with an Alpha 8045, since it'll come out to be the same amount of money, and it cools better (and natively supports 80mm fans). Don't worry about installation of the 8045, it's nearly impossible to crush your core while doing it, and I think that the installation procedure is superior to the standard clip on design.

Cool, thanks guys! I ordered that adapter.. to try it. And I see your point J3anyus! I seriously am considering buying the Pal 8045 HS for my system.. or next one. But the fact of the matter is.. AMD needs to figured out how to make their cpu's run cooler! Like the Intels.. And they are too power hungry also.. If i want an Athlon XP 1600 or higher i should probably buy 350 to 400 watt p/s. and that sux!! My Antec pp-303x - 300watt PS should work.. but for O/C'ing it prolly wouldn't do too well.
