Does this warrant leaving neutral/negative feedback on heatware?

I bought a video card from someone on here about a month ago. The card came in relatively fast, so i left positive feedback for him. I have been emailing since then to see if he can send me an invoice (to get the warranty), and I still have not received it yet. I sent three emails, to which i finally got a response a week ago that said when did you buy and whats your address, and have heard nothing since.

Possibly worse, he still has no left me any feedback, which I could use since I only have a few transactions, and one other person forgot to leave me feedback as well.

So does not leaving feedback warrant making the original feedback left neutral?
and does also refusing to send a receipt make it even worse (even negative?)

maybe im wrong about this, but it doesnt seem like im asking for much. Even before I sent an email to him I got a message from another member asking me the same question "has he sent you an invoice?" I guess it took him a few tries, but he finally got it.

If you bought a used component, why do you need an invoice? MOST hardware manufacturers only offer a warranty to the ORIGINAL purchaser. (yes, some allow it to be transferred, but those are pretty rare)

I'm not too sure about this.. but then I never wasted my time with warranties anyways. Was it made clear that he will transfer the warranty?

Was an invoice expected as part of the original terms of the deal? If not, I vote no negative feedback.

well it was new. and I guess other people have gotten the invoice. Im usually not one for warranties either, but since he gave it to one person why shouldnt I have one too.

And I literally just received an email with the invoice, so i guess thats resolved.

More importantly though, i could use feedback. Right now i have 3 :(

If the invoice was expected as part of the transaction, that warrants a neutral or negative. If not, then no, that definitely does not warrant a neut or neg.

FWIW, unless the manufacturer explicitly states warranties are transferable, even if you supply the original invoice, you're still defrauding the manufacturer.

The other trader not leaving heatware absolutely does not warrant leaving neutral heat. :p

a) like boomerD said, warranty probably isn't transferable anyway
b) not leaving feedback is not a justification to leave a neutral, imho.

IMO, no, it would not warrant neutral feedback...more then like he/she was busy, it happens.

But if it was expected, then yes, neutral would have been something you could do, but knowing who you bought it from .. he was busy :D

Yea i really didnt care all that much about the warranty, more about the feedback. Shouldn't you be required to leave feedback? I mean, isnt it proper etiquette?

One reason why I bought the card here as opposed to somewhere else is to establish my heat, so i can trade things here without having close to no feedback. So it kind of sucks when I dont get any feedback.

Etiquette? This is the internet... you're lucky he didn't send you a box full of dung and run off with your money. Yes, it'd be NICE if he left feedback but he didn't. Have you bothered requesting it? Some people trade so much they forget who they've written reviews of.

yes, I have asked for the invoice and feedback. And i disagree, feedback is crucial on here. I sold an iphone a month back and all i heard was, "oh you have so little feedback" THIS IS WHY!!!

while i agree trading feedback is important, its not worth a neutral or negative feedback from your end. ive had a bunch of trades here, maybe 2 or 3 that didnt get me feedback for one reason or another, and there is probably one or two things i forgot to do it on. its annoying, but it happens

re the invoice...if it wasnt part of the original deal explicitly, then no, you arent justified in leaving it.

if the seller is a bad communicator just write his handle down somewhere and dont deal with him again. 99% of the people ive dealt with here are prompt (~24 hour response times) and courteous during transactions.

you should figure to only get feedback about 2/3 of the time even if you do everything in your power to get it. I typically will send an email once the transaction is completed and mention that I was completely satisfied and asking for feedback. Then...I wait to give my feedback. If a couple days pass with none, I'll email again, mention that I'm happy, and ask for the feedback again. I don't threaten/cajole/etc, but by the 3rd/4th message if the dude doesn't give you any feedback then he probably won't no matter what you do. If that happens I just never leave feedback either. If i'm planning good feedback and the other person mentions that he will give me good feedback too then I'll do it right away, however, even if he hasn't actually gone to do it yet. Just expect to have to ship/pay first for people with extremely good heat ratings until you get a decent rating.

No way does that warrant a neutral or negative feedback. I've had more than a few times I've left feedback and have got none in return. To me if someone has paid for the goods or shipped the product and it works as described then they've really done all they need to on their part. Sure I'd love to have feedback from every transaction but sometimes people forget or they just are too busy. Just keep trading on the forums and before long you'll have a good amount of heat built up.
I will admit though trading has become a lot better once I've built up some heat. Haven't had any crazy lowballs or people asking me to ship first in a long time. Last few transactions I've just set a fair price for both parties and they just ask for my paypal addy and pay and it's done.

Maybe the sellers aren't happy dealing with the OP (too whiney, PITA, gripiing over warranty cards that he doesn't care about anyways, etc.). Rather than leaving negative/neutral feedback, they just leave none.

This is how I handle sales on ebay. They don't let you leave anything but positive feedback to buyers now, so I leave none when someone takes 5 days to pay or acts like PITA.

What good would an invoice do for Evga anyways? Evga will only warranty if you are the original buyer and you bought from an authorized dealer. Do you want him to give you a hand written invoice or something?
So and so bought card off anandtech forums.

I've decided to be the one voice of opposition even though logically it makes no sense. Hells yes he deserves negative feedback. Internet trading is built on the exchange of feedback. I will never trade with the OP because he fails in his duty to obtain feedback for his most recent transaction. If he can't do this how can I trust him

I would then leave a negative to the buyer for being a douche.

"sent buyer item promptly then he gives me a neg. fuck him."
