whether or not that is gramatically correct, it should be "a". the word an is meant to get rid of the awkward sound of two soft vowels in a row, which doesn't include euclidean.

I think people have a tendancy to use the first letter of a word rather than its sound when typing. It's not too uncommon to see "a honest answer".
