About a year ago my mom and sister and I signed up for a Cingular plan, and we had thought that it was essentially a year long contract the ability to cancel, and sign up for a new plan and phone after it was over.
However as it turns out, it was a 2 year plan, with the ability to cancel after the year (now) with no fee..but if we were to opt out and switch plans and/or get a new phone, we can't use our current phone number--which would make getting a new phone kind of worthless. Is this a standard deal? I want a new phone but definitely not at the expense of having to get a new phone number..
If I do pay for a new phone though there should be little problem unlocking it and putting my sim card in yes?
