Does this sound like a good deal for a used car?

I have been looking to get a cheap reliable car for a daily driver for a while now, so I don't have to drive my mustang every day. I have set my limit around $1500. I found out about this car today.

1991 Ford Taurus
~69k Original miles
Super clear exterior/interior (see pics)
A/C does not work needs repair or service (will have to check into it)
6 cyc. Auto.

I can pick it up for right around my $1500 limit.

For $1500 that looks like a great beater. The 3.0l is the better engine reliability wise so you lucked out there. My dad's 93 had problems with the a/c that cost a fortune to fix, think most of the lines ended up neading replaced, but you might be able to get by with just a refill. You can buy r12 compatible stuff off the web so you don't even have to deal with switching it over to r134a. The trannies in those are a bit weak but with only 69k miles, the weaker powerwise 3.0l, and for only $1500 it will last awhile and if it blows in a year just leave it beside the road and walk away 😉.

I had a 1991 Sable (same car, more chrome) and it was a pretty good vehicle. We didn't have A/C problems, but the tranny blew at about 130k - you're well below that so you'll probably get at least a few years out of the car. I liked my sable, fairly comfortable, and you could carry lots of people with it, and plenty of trunkroom, too.

My sable was prettier, though, it was a black car, had some nice touches, had pretty nice looking alloy wheels, and had this really cool running light bar across the front.
