Last time I set up a site through namecheap, it resolved for other people before it resolved for me...

That's odd, NameCheap is usually very fast (12 hours on average for me).

Did you ever register your own personalized name servers or are you using the gzo's?

Yeah... Totally depends on the name servers. Tampa's Road Runner is the worse. I've actually gotten into the habit of adding my own DNS servers to my settings just to make sure I get access. When we moved TheTechBoard.com, it took three days to resolve. When I moved Webhelp.org, it took two days (that was a pain because tera-byte, my host for Webhelp.org, wouldn't let me FTP to an IP address so the page sat blank for two days.) When I registered Socket940.com, it took two days, but every one else could hit these sites and all three are on three different servers at three different locations! It's crazy.

Oh.... sorry I got so side tracked.... I'm getting a namecheap.com parking page. :D

I am a little worried. This is whjat I did:

I bought a Dathorn account.
I registered the domain www.pivotalveracity.com
I set it to point to custom name servers: ns1.pivotalveracity.com, etc...
I set-up a sub-account on the Dathorn account to house the domain
I entered the IPs

did I screw up?

Doesn't sound screwed up to me. It's not NameCheap's fault if all of the DNS servers in the world do not resolve at the same time.

What's supposed to be at this URL? A parked page or an actual website on one of the Dathorn servers?

update - it resolves now. It turns out I waas directing to the wrong name servers. Instead of ns1.pivotalveracity.com, I directed it to the GZO servers and it got up and running very quickly

Do you have AIM or MSN?

I can help you get ns1.pivotalveracity.com and ns2.pivotalveracity.com online and running.
