Does this seem like a good deal to you all too?

That's not a bad deal and it is a pretty good CPU Heatsink. I would just make sure it fits into the case you are using. Also, you might be even luckier then you originnaly thought as that same CPU Heatsink is the last Shell Shocker Deal of the Day which means you might be able to get it for even less than what you initially saw. The deal starts at 6:00pm (Pacific Time) and runs until 11:59pm (Pacific Time). I got the Newegg Shell Shocker email alert this morning and it looks like they will drop this cooler down to $39.99, using the mail in rebate, according to the alert.

Also, make sure you have necessary clearance for your RAM sticks to fit as the cooler looks to be pretty big.

Would that fit in a HAF 912?

It should be able to fit into the HAF 912. It has a height of 154mm or about 6inches. The HAF 912 has about 8inches of internal depth with the motherboard installed, so it should fit with a little room to spare.

sorry the moment i saw Zalman... i lul'd a little.

Zalman and thermaltake are about 90% bling.. 10% performance.

Personally id rather have it the other way around like thermalright or noctuna.
Which is 90% performance... 10% bling.

Actually, I'd say most Noctuas are negative bling, but damn do they work well. Phantek also seems to have near-Noctua performance (at least, in the OMG HUGE cooler category) and pretty good looks, depending on who you ask, though they do price just above Noctua.

Wow I missed that shell shocker, I would have jumped on that. Should have checked back here earlier! That cooler for $40 would have been the deal of the century.

$60 after rebate for that beast? It's literally a kilogram of cooling power.
That seems like really a great deal considering it has 3 fans and a ton of copper.
No, it doesn't seem like a "good deal" to me.

Noctua is one of the best air coolers now. For the same price I'd take a noctua d14 or a silver arrow over a zalman.

Looks nice but with the fans recessed into the fins, I doubt it has the same fin surface area as a conventional Noctua NH-D14 or Thermalright Silver Arrow. Don't like the fact that the fans are not something that you could replace with an off the shelf part should it break.
