Is there anything out there like this? I want a bed, but completely on the floor. Something like a mattress on a floor, without any legs or anything. Is there a products like this, or is it just called a mattress?

i could sell you a "floor bed" (aka a plain ole mattress) for double the price of a mattress just because i call it a "floor bed". ;)

Are you falling out of bed too often?

For most people I just can't see the point. Bed heights are that way for a reason. That height allows for the easiest entry/exit, it makes it the most convenient for an aid while putting on clothes/shoes, plus it allows bonus storage space.

But yes, people do just put matresses on the floor. I've seen it all the time with my friends from India.

The only reason Im am considering it is because I think it may be more comfortable. Then again, it may not be. My only concern is getting out of bed with ease. I think it would be a PITA to get out of bed at the level every morning.

I was just about to mention India. :D

What many people who don't earn enough do there is that they buy a mattress (without springs) and put it on the ground. The difference is that those mattresses are pretty stiff, and filled with cotton, or something similar.

i dont think it would be any more comfortable...its just at a diff lvl. I have had a bed ont he floor..and my friends have too. Same thing..just lower. Not as useful for having people over cause they have to sit o the floor. Also more dust gets kicked up onto your bed which is no good. I did it becuase i didnt feel like moving my bedframe from home at the time.

I have also slepped on Japanese Futons...or just a roll out padding thing that they keep packed away becuase of the small space they have. Not bad.

Just get a regular frame from a mattress store for like $30 and leave it at that.

It won't be very high and is better than having your mattress sitting on the floor since it'll keep dust (and dust mites) out of it more.

Darn you, I had put off thinking about purchasing a platform bed. I currently have just a mattress (no boxspring) sitting on my floor right now. I bought the mattress with the intent of buying a platform bed, and had just been putting off looking for one until I can find a house. Now I've gone and looked and made myself want one of these. I'd have to see a better photo though ;) Again I say darn you :D

So it's the thing under the mattress? Hmm. And they cost $30-$50? Maybe I'll just buy a new one then.

I dont want legs, I want to be on the floor. I guess what I need is a box spring, and a mattress, right?
