Would likely be incorrect to assume the above is a scam simply because it is listed in multiple locations. It can be, but more information is likely required to make such a determination.Originally posted by: CheapArse
Since you're in Pennsylvania, and I have the same ad infront of me for SD, CA...id say its a scam.
Agreed (I actually stated the same earlier in the thread).Originally posted by: Firus
thats not all that low. I was thinking of Selling my Sager 5680 with 1Gig of ram for $500 canadian. It's got a 128mb 9600. Cmon you guys should know how fast electronics depreciate these days![]()
The above statement coupled with the fact that this is an international exchange (which the buyer has quite purposely avoided stating) certainly raises suspicion. Obviously (from both the photographs and the buyer's description), the item is used. International transactions are often more costly on both the buyer and seller, and without a safe third-party to handle the monetary exchange can raise the scam potential.Originally posted by: trinketsummoner

I sent them an email, this was the reply :
Hello
My name is David Reuben and i live in London Uk.The last price for this laptop is 500 usd.
The item is new ,in box with 12 monts international waranty .
Here is how I want to go about delivery and payment for the product which will be through Chronopost International and will also give you the chance to inspect the product before I receive the payment for it.
I will explain to you step by step how this will work.
A. First you have to send me your shipping information (your name and address).
1. After I receive your shipping info, I'll go to a Chronopost International Location and leave the product onto your name and with your address as the intended receiver.
2. Chronopost will check the product, also the legal papers to see that everything is OK with it.
B. You will receive a notification from Chronopost as a confirmation that the product is in their custody and also, that the product has been tested.
1.Chronopost International will verify the Money Transfer, and if everything is in order, they will deliver the product to your door step.
2. After you will receive the product and you will be completely satisfied with it, you will instruct Chronopost to release the payment information to me, so I can collect my money.
C. If by any reason, you will not be satisfied with the product, you will return the product to Chronopost with no expense.
I will pay for shipping and you for the amount transfer.
Let me know if we can do this.
Thanks!

You may have stopped reading after that first statement. Reading the entire post reveals I agree with your assessment.Originally posted by: CheapArse
I disagree, and everything about this screams scam. The more we're learning about it, the more it gives light to the fact that it is a scam. Someone would have to be very stupid to purchase this notebook based on the info given so far.
