Does this news mean anything good?

I don't understand any of this, but I was wondering if anyone is familiar witht he technology they're talking about.

Is this technology anything that would impact sales? Is it something that is unique?

Well, I'm not an economics major but I was an EE major and I can tell you that reducing gate/drain capacitance is always an issue for EEs so if they reduced it by half while maintaining other factors then that's pretty good. Overall, those are some pretty impressive accomplishments in circuit design but I don't really know how it will relate directly to tech development.

Thanks, do you think that this is something new or is it just another milestone that is consistently broken? Will it be impressive for very long do you think?

Well especially with regard to the gate-drain cap, I think that a 50% improvement is pretty major. I don't think that that sort of thing comes along every day. I can check with my buddy who concentrated in sold-state circuit design. He would know better than me as my concentration was in signals. I'll try to get a hold of him later tonight.

Thanks, but please don't go out of your way. I honestly wouldn't understand anything technical. I was just wondering if it was more than something like, say the introduction of the Centrino(?) processor after the Pentium 4. It kind of sounds like it is bigger than that. Thanks again.
